About This Section

Grain Cabinet Notes covers cabinet installation in Austin, TX, in the level of detail a homeowner needs before spending money on it.

Commercial Position

This is an independent publication. It describes how work is done and what it costs, and takes no position on who should do it.

How the Guides Are Written

Guides concentrate on judgement calls rather than procedure. Preparation, specification, and the details that are expensive to correct afterward get the space; the rest is left out.

Limits

Guides describe the general case. Any specific property can present conditions that change the answer, which is why an on-site assessment by somebody qualified always outranks anything written beforehand.

Why the Focus Is Narrow

Coverage stays narrow on purpose. A page trying to address every trade in every city ends up saying nothing specific about any of them, and specifics are the only part worth reading.
